Using high-yielding biomass and a continuous, self-powered pyrolysis process, SuperChar will manufacture commodities which industry can adopt today, with no waste streams and no reliance on native timber.
Bio-Pellets
A renewable, drop-in substitute for thermal and metallurgical coal in power generation and steel making. This product is under contract with Rio Tinto Aluminium.

Premium plant-based charcoal for residential and export markets, cleaner-burning and deforestation-free.

After extensive research and testing, SuperChar has proven bana grass to be the optimum biomass feedstock for sustainable, renewable, plant-based commodities: bio-pellets, bio-charcoal and animal feed pellets.

From concept to contract: the Rio Tinto agreement
Rio Tinto Aluminium has signed a five-year offtake agreement to purchase SuperChar bio-pellets for its alumina refineries in Gladstone, initially blending bio-pellets with coal in refinery boilers.
Bana grass planting begins in late 2026, with bio-pellet production and deliveries from 2028, validated by operational trials at Rio Tinto's Gladstone operations.
